Opening Night Recap: RERE Takes the Stage
REvamping REstell opened to a full house at Ten Fifteen Theater. One more performance remains today, Sunday, August 23 at 3:30pm.

Last night, REvamping REstell had its very first audience.
The Ten Fifteen Theater was packed for the world premiere workshop performance of Deanna Duplechain's new play, a theatrical kaleidoscope of Madame Restell (famed midwife and notorious abortionist of the 19th century) providing reproductive healthcare to women on a sliding scale. Certainly, she must be destroyed. Oh, how the times haven't changed.
Astoria showed up for it. The room was full of people who care deeply about reproductive rights, and it showed, in the laughter, in the quiet, in the energy after the lights came up. This is exactly the kind of audience this play was written for.
The cast: Deborah Jensen as Madame Restell, alongside Marc Weaver, Cameron Lira, Sam Dinkowitz, Cyndi Fisher, Nancy Watkins, Danyelle Tinker, Nancy Montgomery, Tod Adamson, and John Hunt.
The creative team: Sound Design and Stage Management by Jaime Britton, Costume Design by Suzanne Childers, Costume Direction by Sondra Gomez, Lighting Design by Ronnie Rantis, Scenic Art by Heather Goguen, Original Music by Tod Adamson, and Dialect Coaching by Monica Blaze Leavitt.
As a workshop production, this run exists to grow the play. A post-show discussion followed the performance, gathering feedback that will shape the next iteration of the script, and that collaborative spirit was felt in the room all night.
