Thank You, Astoria
REvamping REstell had its very first audiences this weekend, two performances at the Ten Fifteen Theater on Saturday, August 22 and Sunday, August 23. We are still catching our breath.
This was a workshop production in the truest sense, a play built to be watched, discussed, and reshaped in front of the very people it's about. Thank you to everyone who showed up, sat with the material, and stayed for the conversations afterward. Your reactions and feedback are already part of what this play becomes next.
As playwright and director Deanna Duplechain told the room before the curtain even rose, "Thank you all for being adventurous and stepping into the unknown with us."

This team built a full world for Madame Restell (spiritualists, a séance, a shipwreck, a courtroom) out of a base wardrobe, a handful of set pieces, and a lot of craft. That's artistry under real constraints, and it showed.

None of this happens without Ten Fifteen Productions and Executive Director Danyelle Tinker (who also brought Wayward Sister Ida to life onstage), or without the Ten Fifteen Theater opening its doors to a brand new, still-developing play. The Cause
Both performances were pay-what-you-can, with all proceeds benefiting Planned Parenthood Columbia Willamette and the Northwest Abortion Access Fund. Thank you to everyone whose donation helped make that possible, alongside the show itself.

This workshop run exists to grow the play. The conversations after each performance are already feeding into the next draft, and we'll have more to share as that continues, photos, video, and audience reflections included.
